Official Galaxy Note 2 Specs And Images Leak
« on: August 29, 2012, 10:11:39 AM »

Only hours before the official Samsung Unpacked event taking place later today at IFA in Berlin, official specs and press images have been leaked of the new Galaxy Note 2 to the website 'PocketNow'.  As can be seen in the pictures above the new Galaxy Note 2 takes its design influence from the Galaxy III phone.   Specs include a 1280 x 720 display which although slightly lower than the 1280 x 800 display on the old Galaxy Note provide the new with a true 16:9 aspect ratio display, which comes in by the way at 5.5 inches compared to the old Note's 5.3.

Other details include a quad core processor running at 1.6GHz, most likely the Samsung Exynos, although we'll find out for sure later.  The Galaxy Note 2 comes with 2GB of ram, an 8MP camera on back and 1.9MP up front.  The battery is a tremendous 3,100 mAh, which is larger than the 2,500 mAh battery in the old model.   Despite this the new Galaxy Note 2 will be thinner, at 9.4mm compared to the old's 9.65mm, although weight bumps up ever so slightly by 2 grams.

The Galaxy Note 2 will come in 16gb, 32gb and 64gb versions and all will have microSD expansion.  Wireless will include HSPA+ 21 mbps, 4G LTE as an option and perhaps most surprisingly...the Galaxy Note 2 will come with Android 4.1, Jelly Bean out of the box!  It will be available in Marble White or Titanium Grey and will be available in europe starting in October with the U.S. availability still to be released.    There's a bunch of info we'll be sharing a bit later including details on the new S-Pen which is notably beefier than the previous version and has a few new tricks up it's sleeve.   We'll have the full rundown after the 'Unpacked' event later today.
