Galaxy Note 8.0 Arrives In U.S. + Full Reviews Arrive

The Galaxy Note 8.0, Samsung's latest addition to their Galaxy Note line featuring S-Pen functionality is arriving in stores in just a few days on April 11th.  On that date you'll be able to go to Amazon, Best Buy/Best Buy Mobile, h.h. gregg, Newegg, P.C. Richard & Son, Staples and TigerDirect.com, among others and place your order.  Now that the release is impending we're also starting to see some hands-on reviews of the Galaxy Note 8.0.   As a direct competitor to such devices as the iPad Mini and the Nexus 7, the Galaxy Note 8.0 has some innovative features like multitasking and S-Pen functionality that their competitors lack.  The price of the Note 8.0 is pegged at $399, which does appear a bit higher than the competition, with the Nexus 7 starting at $199 and the iPad Mini at $329, but the company is hoping that the additional S-Pen technology will entice customers nonetheless.

With the impending release we also see some of the first full reviews of the device.  Engadget, The Verge, PocketNow and others have started to release their full video reviews as well as written and you can see the Engadget review that we've linked to above.  Overall it seems reviewers are impressed with the S-Pen functionality and software that comes with the device and generally think the hardware is adequate...if not spectacular for the price.  The size is generally seen as a good compromise between a phone and a full sized 10 inch tablet.  It seems the 7-8 inch tablet size is becoming the sweet sport with consumers.  Unlike the european and asian versions of the Galaxy Note 8.0, phone functionality is not included in the U.S. model.  This might be a bit of a disappointment to some.  However if you're looking for a productivity tool with active digitizer, multi-tasking and S-Pen functionality then the Galaxy Note 8.0 might be just what the doctor ordered.
