Sim card error
« on: December 10, 2014, 12:58:57 PM »
Hi everyone. New to the forum.

"Unable to detect your sim card. You're device will restart to check for your sim card"

This Is the message i am getting. It is random and seems like there is no particular reason for it. Phone seems to work normal after the message appears but the notification won't go away until i restart the phone. This is my first galaxy phone. Anyone else having this issue?

Have you reseated the card? Do this with the battery pulled...

I removed the battery,  reseated the card, booted to recovery, and cleared the cache.  Seems to have fixed the problem. Not sure if it was the card or cache.  I'll let you know if it reappears. Thanks.

I had the same problem. Reseated the card and cleared the cache. Good for a couple days then happened again. I then put a small piece of tape on the Sim card to hold it in place and the problem disappeared. Is a shame we have to do this on such an expensive nice device.

Had similar problem on another type of phone.  Never resolved prior to getting a new phone and relegating that phone to the dresser drawer storage of discarded phones.  Seems like one should not have to be jury rigging an expensive phone with tape though.

I was wondering what peoples experiences are with battery saving apps like Battery Doctor.  Do they work?  Is their 3-stage charging process effective/necessary?  I don't have problems with poor battery life, but I am on the bus a lot meaning I can't charge it all the time so I'm looking for ways to maximize battery life.

In my opinion the note 4's fast charge option is sufficient to very quickly bring you to state where you have 40% battery charge again.

I know, thanks.  But I'm wondering more along the lines of whether battery saver apps like 'Battery Doctor' are effective, or just a waste of space...?
